Why did people name a dog after a Saint? Because this breed can really live up to it. In the past, it is said that this pooch was trained by monks to rescue travelers stranded or lost in the snowy mountains. They have the inclination towards good 鈥?they actually like helping out humans. This breed has been known to save countless lives. The Saint Bernard is a very large dog, it can weigh anywhere from 110 to 200 pounds, and stand between 24 to 28 inches. They have beautiful short coats that are quite glossy 鈥?it has a 鈥渢ough鈥?feel to it.
I didn't go back that day, but I did the next year.
