Medically, chronic illness can be defined as a condition that is lasting longer than three months, according to the definition determined by the U.S. National Center for Health Statistics. This could include any physical state that takes away one's measure of health-or as the void of illness such as the autoimmune illness chronic fatigue syndrome, rheumatoid arthritis, symptoms of end stage COPD, or even cancer.

Even though I鈥檝e lost other jobs since for various reasons such as the company moving to another state, the loss of the first one was the hardest. I鈥檝e learned from all of them.
Perhaps the view from our Lazy-Boy won鈥檛 cut it when we are faced with great difficulty. It is with the biggest problems we need to zoom out furthest. Find a higher ground, be it from a skyscraper, mountaintop or standing on your desk. With the courage to change our perspective and be open to the learning we can shift from problem to opportunity in the blink of an eye. From this new perspective the problem becomes smaller or different indeed.
